Fantasia Caffé & Catering

In 1996, Fantasia (fan-tah-see-yah) Gelati, came to life as a young, family-run company full of enthusiasm and energy prepared to bring Italy’s favourite cold treat to Edmonton - gelato! Gelato opens up opportunities for endless imagination, creative presentation, unique flavours, and indulgence. We wanted to maintain our strong ties to our Italian traditions and heritage, all the while recreating the true Italian gelato experience for all to enjoy and appreciate.

We began our journey by importing a Sicilian gelato cart to Edmonton and providing gelato at local summer festivals. After years of providing gelato, not yet manufactured by us, we received numerous requests by our growing clientele to make it ourselves. After a great deal of research and time, we took on the challenge and long-awaited dream to manufacture gelato. We packed our bags and were off to Italy to learn from the best! In 1999, we began passing on our love for gelato by handcrafting and using top quality key ingredients and specialized equipment directly from Italy.

To achieve the best taste experience possible, we vowed not to compromise taste and traditions and worked diligently to bring authenticity to the market. Our success only grew and we not only provided gelato to the business sector, but began a retail line in 2001 after much demand from our loyal clients.

Eventually, our love for the craft grew and we expanded and set up home in our first location in downtown Edmonton, Enterprise Square in 2008. We quickly grew from a caffé to include quality catering services as well. Today, we are proud to provide delicious food, mouth-watering gelato, and fresh-on site roasted coffee. You can still find us vending at many summer festivals throughout Festival City where we got our start all those years ago!
